DN Solutions (formerly Doosan Machine Tools) next-generation multi-tasking powerhouse, the Puma SMX is capable of turning, milling, drilling and rigid tapping. The SMX series uses both high speed and heavy-duty capability to increase productivity and provide for just-in-time production requirements by reducing lead time, changeover time, set-up time, and time between operations.
A thorough Finite Element Method (FEM) structural analysis results in a very rigid machine design. All guideways are sealed with protective covers, preventing chips and coolant from contaminating the guideways and interfering with machine accuracy. Advanced machining functions using a left spindle, a right spindle, a 240° B-axis, and a milling spindle make producing complex parts fast and easy. The orthogonal structure gives manufacturers the power to machine a wide variety of parts with an extended turning diameter.
