Electric Discharge Machines or EDM can be used to machine conductive materials of any hardness to an accuracy of up to one-thousandth of a millimeter with no mechanical action. Because of these properties, EDM is one of the key technologies in mold and tool making.

+GF+ Machining Solutions is a machine tool provider of high quality milling, EDM and laser surfacing machines tools. The technologies incorporated in their EDM products reduce electrode wear, allow for fast removal rates and mirror finishes. Its vast range of Vertical 3 and 5-axis machining centers excels in high speed, high performance and high efficiency. Ellison is the exclusive distributor for GF Machining Solutions products in ONLY the following states: CA, IA, IN, KY, OR, MN, ND, NV, SD, WA, WI, Southern Ohio and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Die-Sink EDMs are commonly used in the production of dies and molds. They are high accuracy machines that offer fast removal rates and produce fine finishes in electrically conductive materials.

Hole drilling EDMs use a brass or copper electrode tube to drill holes in an electrically conductive material at very high speeds. Given the five axis configuration of the machine, holes can be drilled at any angles on an inclined surface workpiece. This technology is widely used for hole machining in aerospace, energy, cutting tools, automotive, medical, mold and die industries

Wire Electrical Discharge Machining utilizes a metallic wire to cut a programmed contour in a workpiece. Designed for extrusion dies and blanking punches, Wire EDM’s utilized a brass or stratified copper wire that is between 0.02 and 0.33 mm. The wires are capable of machining on an incline allowing tapered parts with different profiles on the top and bottom.
